Statue of Liberty Museum
Overview:
The Statue of Liberty Museum aims to provide an enriching educational experience that is accessible to all visitors, celebrating the history and legacy of the Statue of Liberty.
Challenge:
The Statue of Liberty Museum sought to ensure that their digital platforms, including their website and in-museum kiosks, were fully accessible to all visitors, including those with disabilities.
The museum wanted to provide an inclusive experience that would allow everyone to engage with the exhibits and educational content seamlessly.
Solution:
The museum engaged our accessibility services services to conduct a comprehensive accessibility audit and implement necessary improvements for both their website and in-museum kiosks.
These standards, based on WCAG 2.1 AA policies, were then recognized and adopted by National Park Services for use in future projects.
Results:
The accessibility enhancements made a significant impact on the visitor experience at the Statue of Liberty Museum. Implementation changes included:
Screen Reader Compatibility
Touchscreen accessibility
Visual and Aids
